How do Willows spread?

Willows can spread by seed or by branches or twigs breaking off and rooting in the water or on damp ground downstream. Rather than go into too much detail here can I recommend reading section one of the Willows Management guide pages 10 to 14. The complete guide can be also be accessed and downloaded from the Weeds Australia Web site or you can order a printed copy of the manual from the National Willows Co-ordinator.
