Between the 1st and 6th of February 2009 Willow Warriors with Duke of Edinburgh candidates from Macmasters Beach Surf Life Saving Club, three other volunteers and two river guides, mapped and treated the following willows on both sides of the borders along the Murray river between Tom Groggin and Maguires Bridge.
On the 2nd February we paddled the 6km from Tom Groggin camping area to Grassy Flat, treating 5 Golden Crack hybrid willows and 2 small poplars. In the afternoon we prepared our gear for the longer trip through the Murray Gates and then did the car shuffle to take the vehicles to the proposed exit point at Biggara Bridge.
