2010-03-07 Wingecarribee River - Berrima Weir to Old Hume Highway Bridge - Treating Willows

On March 7th 2010 we lauched our boats from the Stone Quarry steps and paddles up to the Berrima Weir and treated 5 crack willow regrowth sites amongst the stand of willows on river right. We then paddled downstream to the Old Hume Highway Bridge treating 7 regrowth sites and also the two crack willows we had left previously when we started the work downstream of Berrima. Apart from the two willows not previousy treated and a limb growing in the water up near the weir the sites invoved a small number of stems at each site but in most cases they were growing amoungst black berries. Willow Warriors are involved in this project to assist the Wingecaribee Shire Council, Berrima Bushcare Group and others in the local community with their river restoration project arround Berrima.
